Exness Swap Points

Swap points refer to the profit or loss resulting from the difference in policy interest rates between two countries; they are also known as "interest rate differentials." If you buy a currency with a high interest rate and sell one with a low interest rate, you can earn swap points as profit; conversely, if you do the opposite, you will be required to pay swap points, which will be deducted from your settlement funds when the position is closed.

Swap points are calculated based on the policy interest rates of the two countries involved in the currency pair; however, even if there are no changes in policy interest rates, swap points may be adjusted due to market conditions. Additionally, swap points vary by broker, so please be sure to check Exness’s latest swap points before you start trading.

Exness swap points are applied at rollover time, which occurs at 7:00 a.m. (6:00 a.m. during daylight saving time) from Monday through Friday. Please note that if you close a position before rollover, you will not receive the swap points. Additionally, if you hold a position with negative swap points, you can avoid paying those points by closing the position before rollover.

At Exness, swap points for three days—including Saturday and Sunday—are added all at once on Wednesdays; therefore, triple swap points are charged during the rollover from Wednesday to Thursday.

Please note that when swap points are tripled, both positive and negative swap points will be tripled; therefore, please exercise caution if you plan to hold a position overnight from Wednesday to Thursday.

Exness swap points are calculated based on trading volume, contract size, decimal places, and the swap rate. The formula for calculating daily swap points is as follows:

Please note that swap points are calculated in the settlement currency (the currency on the right side of the currency pair), so if you receive them in Japanese yen, you will need to convert them to the yen exchange rate. However, if the settlement currency of the trading pair is Japanese yen (e.g., USD/JPY), the swap points are calculated in yen, so there is no need to convert them to your account currency.

In the MT4/MT5 "Market Watch" window on Exness, right-click the currency pair you wish to trade and select "Specifications." If the Market Watch window is hidden, click "View" in the menu and enable "Market Watch."

You can view the swap points accrued while a position is open in the "Trade" tab of the Exness MT4/MT5 terminal. Since the P&L (Profit and Loss) display shows the amount obtained by adding or subtracting swap points from the exchange rate gain, you can easily determine the current net profit or loss for that position.

You can view the swap points credited after a position is closed in the "Account History" tab of the Exness MT4/MT5 terminal. Swap points are added to or deducted from your profit when a position is closed and are reflected in your account balance.

At Exness, you cannot withdraw swap points separately. Swap points are recorded as profit or loss along with exchange rate gains or losses when a position is closed, and are reflected in your account balance. Please note that swap points cannot be received or paid separately from open positions.

At Exness, swap points are charged on positions held overnight. If the swap points for the instrument you are trading are negative, holding a position overnight for several days to several months—such as in swing trading—can result in accumulated losses from swap points, which may significantly impact your trading results. Please check the swap points for the relevant instruments before you start trading or while holding a position.Please note that while Exness’s Low Spread and Zero accounts allow you to trade with low spreads, transaction fees vary by instrument. When trading, please consider not only swap points and spreads but also transaction fees as part of the total cost incurred during trading.

In the case of long-term trades aimed at generating profits from swap points, exchange rate losses may increase due to sudden market fluctuations, potentially resulting in a forced liquidation. If you plan to hold a position for an extended period, we recommend ensuring you maintain sufficient available margin, as sudden price fluctuations may lead to a decrease in available margin and result in losses.
