Among European currencies, the pound rose slightly against the U.S. dollar as markets assessed developments surrounding the U.S.-Iran talks and the foreign exchange market following the coordinated intervention by Japan and the U.S.Crude oil prices fell on expectations of the talks but rebounded after Iran denied the reports, and these fluctuations in energy prices limited the pound’s directional momentum. The GBP/USD pair traded within a range of $1.3418 to $1.3458 and closed near $1.3451. The previous day’s trading range was approximately 40 pips.During today’s Asian trading session, the pair is trading in the $1.3450 range, with resistance expected around $1.3460 and support around $1.3420–$1.3430.
Today’s economic indicators include the release of the revised July services sector Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) figures for France, Germany, the Eurozone, and the UK, scheduled for 4:50 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.At 6:00 p.m., the Eurozone’s June Producer Price Index is scheduled for release, and at 9:15 p.m., the U.S. July ADP Employment Report is due; employment is expected to rise by 65,000 month-over-month, marking a slowdown from the previous increase of 98,000.At 10:45 p.m., the revised U.S. July Services PMI will be released, followed by the U.S. July ISM Non-Manufacturing Index at 11:00 p.m.The ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI is expected to rise to 54.5 from the previous reading of 54.0.
